A consultation is designed to help understand the pain or discomfort you may be in. This consists of a verbal (subjective) assessment where the injury is discussed through questions, in order for the therapist to gain an understanding of what is occurring so that the best tests can be selected to help reach a diagnosis. After the subjective assessment has been completed, an objective assessment will begin. This is a physical examination of the client to source the underlying issue of the pain or discomfort. From this a treatment plan is formed and discussed with the client to help them make the best recovery they possibly can.
Rehabilitation aids recovery from an injury through prescribed exercises which form a rehabilitation plan, individually designed for each client. No injury is the same and no client will recover at the same pace. Each client is treated individually with everything aimed towards the client reaching their own goals; from walking to playing sports again – LW Sports Therapy will get you there!

Having qualified in pitchside first aid 5 years ago, Lauren has continued to develop with treatments she can offer players on the pitch. Having completed her trauma care module, she is now experienced in dealing with more serious injuries should they arise. Fortunately for Lauren’s players, so far she has not had to utilise these skills on too many occasions!
Lauren is available to provide pitchside treatments on match days for a standard fee of £80 plus the cover of any travel expenses. The standard fee covers the cost of any tapes, massage mediums, ice packs and match day attendance. If you are a sporting team or event that requires medical cover then contact Lauren on 07981825062 to book in.
This technique involves the use of placing decompressed cups onto the skin's surface and then creating a suction, lifting the skin into the cups. This modality helps to target the underlying tissues such as the fascia as well as muscles, along with the blood and other fluids that are closer to the skin's surface. While this treatment method can leave the client with red or dark rings on the skin for a few days post appointment, this occurs due to the tension in the tissues underneath the cups placement. This is not a painful treatment despite the marks that can be left on the skin! This is a great, effective and quick way to have an immediate effect on the deeper tissues of the body to release tension.
Cupping can be used alongside Sports Massage treatments to enhance the results further.
