Due to the current COVID-19 worldwide pandemic there are new rules and regulations that we have to adhere to during appointments in order to keep us all as safe possible while we continue to work and assist our clients. Lauren will be in FULL PPE (face mask, face shield, medical gloves & apron) during all treatments and consultation appointments regardless of the length of time she is with a client. ALL clients must wear a face mask to all appointments, placing them on before entering the building and not removing them until you have left the premises. Each client will be sent a COVID-19 form to complete prior to the appointment to ensure that no symptoms are present and it is safe for the treatment or consultation to go ahead with all precautions in place. There is a 20 minute empty gap between each client booking to ensure there is ample time for the entire clinic room to be wiped down with antibacterial spray or wipes and for both towels and paper roll to be changed ready for the next appointment.

A consultation is designed to help understand the pain or discomfort you may be in. This consists of a verbal (subjective) assessment where the injury is discussed through questions in order for the therapist to gain an understanding of what is going so that the best tests can be selected to help reach a diagnosis. After the subjective assessment has been completed, an objective assessment will begin. This is a physical examination of the client to source the underlying issue of the pain or discomfort. From this a treatment plan is formed and discussed with the client to help them make the best recovery they possibly can. A consultation usually takes between 45 and 60 minutes.
Rehabilitation is a way of aiding recovery from an injury through prescribed exercises which are placed in to a rehabilitation plan, individually designed for each client. Having completed her trauma care module, she is now experienced in dealing with more serious injuries should they arise. Fortunately for Lauren’s players, so far she has not had to utilise these skills on too many occasions!
